Come to Rollins Park on Aug. 4, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., to help support America’s “Night Out” against crime.
“Once upon a time, we kept our porch lights on,” according to the official website for the national program. “We opened the door even if we didn’t know who rang the bell. And we could always leave the back door unlocked during the day.”
National Association of Town Watch is a national nonprofit crime prevention organization dedicated to the development and promotion of crime prevention in communities across the nation. NATW is a network of law enforcement agencies, neighborhood watch groups, civic groups, state and regional crime prevention associations and concerned citizens. Through that network, NATW was able to launch the annual National Night Out campaign.
“National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live,” the official website says. “Together, we are making that happen.”
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
In Concord, there will be a variety of events to include food, music, bike safety, inflatable slide, animal displays, contests, youth activities, Touch-A-Truck program, rocking climbing wall, information display tables and more! This is a family friendly event.
Buy your tickets for food items at the gazebo starting at 5 p.m. Admittance to all events is free. Food and refreshment Items are $1 each.
